Uber-fans of the series LOST already know how fun commentary tracks can be with writers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. And if you have picked up the FRINGE Season 1 DVD set you also know that J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman can also serve up a mighty commentary that is equally entertaining as it is informative.
Well if you have yet to pick up a copy of J.J. & Company's Star Trek reboot just released to DVD and BluRay this Tuesday, it is well worth the extras. Besides a delightful blooper reel, deleted scenes, and making-of featurette, there is an incredible full-length commentary for the film with J.J., Damon, Roberto, and Alex. It will make you giggle as well as give you some insight into how the film was made, along with the many surprising (literally) last-minute decisions that were made to improve the film before it was finalized. Of course, Mr. Lindelof serves up many of the chuckles throughout, and LOST fans will definitely appreciate that sense of humor we have come to know and love.
G-4 channel did a short interview with Mr. Abrams as he discussed the extras as well as what the future holds in regards to the next installment, scheduled for release in 2012.
