Greetings LOSTaholics,
It would seem that once again outside influences have taken their toll on the timeliness of my recaps, and as you may have noticed I am currently lacking a post for last week’s down-&-dirty episode, “Sundown”. For those of you who do not know, besides running the 4TF and being a social networking junkie, I run my own business. Um, make that two businesses. Throw in the fact I’ve been trying to prepare for a trip to MegaCon over the past week and, well, I’m hoping that you can imagine how completely whacko life has been since my last major article.
Lately I’ve been planning to start a new weekly feature here at the 4TF, and I figured that while I finish up my more intensive episode posts, now would be the perfect time to launch it. I’m taking the cue from Chris over at Stream of Consciousness blog and starting my own little “LOST Blog of the Week” spotlight.
To start things off, I’d like to introduce you to the oh-so-appropriately titled, “The LOST Blog”.
The LOST Blog’s tagline is “By Fans, For Fans, About Fans”, and it most certainly lives up to this motto. Owned by Alex Ripps, and edited by Jon Stueve (who also serves as the site’s general manager), The LOST Blog runs a tight ship by generating awesome, timely content and maintaining a hefty and dedicated following. They really know their audience well. I mean, they are the audience! And if you take some time to browse the site’s content, you will immediately see the myriad of ways in which they serve the often rabid world of LOST fandom.
They’ve got just about everything and anything fans look for; articles, videos, chats, interviews, games, artwork, polls, analysis, links, news… and it’s all here for the love of the LOST community. The content is constantly fresh. They keep the new posts rolling out on a daily basis, all to the credit of their 10 regular contributors. The LOST Blog’s reach also goes beyond their home base, and you can find them connecting with other fans through social networking staples such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. They even have their own Café Press LOST shop. Seriously, if you can think of it, The LOST Blog has it going on!
One of my favorite aspects about the site is the overall sense of humor. Whereas some LOST sites tend to only concentrate on serious analysis of the show, the crew at The LOST Blog mixes it up with some truly funny posts. They have a link just for Humor, something that stands out from a lot of blogs out there and something that I personally appreciate. A recent post comes to mind that I especially love entitled, “4 Questions With…Shannon’s Asthma Inhaler”, by “Juliet’s Smokin’ Muffins”. The title is exactly what it sounds like, and it was added right after “The Lighthouse” when Hurley found that old thing on the ground outside the caves. “Juliet” has posted several other such interviews with inanimate objects from LOST in an ongoing series. The concept still makes me giggle, and it just goes to show you how creative the crew can be.
Another personal favorite of mine is from Erin a.k.a. Loster21. She gathers up great tweets from the LOST community from fans, show writers, even Damon and Carlton themselves, and shares them in a daily column called “@Loster21’s Tweets O’ the Day”. It’s a really cool way of showing you at a glance what is being discussed around the LOST-iverse each day, and also a great way of introducing you to potential new Twitter streams to follow that are run by folks who all share a certain passion for a certain show.
I could really just keep giving you highlight after highlight here, but with everything they’ve got going on, it would take me a good long time. I instead recommend that you mosey on over and check it out for yourself. Because no matter what kind of content you’re seeking, The LOST Blog really does have something for everyone. And that’s just not something that a lot of LOST sites can truly boast.
Great job to everyone involved with the site!

You SO ROCK! What a sweet article! Thanks so much honey!
Glad you enjoyed the interview with the asthma inhaler. I'm pretty sure Keamy's frying pan is next, so stay tuned for that.
BTW, the word verification thing for this comment is 'splastme'. Sounds like some kind of curse-phrase.
"Oh, splast me!"
(crickets chirp)
Um, anyway...
Thanks again for the kind words.
